What is a loom bracelet?

A loom bracelet is a flat band of seed beads woven on a bead loom. The warp threads run the length of the band; every row of beads is strung on the weft thread, pressed up between the warps and locked by passing back through it.

Because loom beads stand upright in straight rows, a loom chart is a plain grid of cells a little taller than wide. A typical bracelet is 10 to 25 beads wide and long enough to go round the wrist once the clasp is added.

What a loom bracelet chart is for

  • Repeat designs. Geometric borders and ornaments that run the length of the band.

  • Names and words. Lettering that reads cleanly across a narrow band.

  • Matching sets. A bracelet sharing its palette with a gerdan or earrings.

How Wevy handles a loom bracelet

Sized for the wrist

The bracelet grid starts at 20 beads across and 90 rows; resize it to your wrist and bead size.

Repeats without retyping

Select a motif and copy it down the band. With Pro, save it as a motif for every pattern.

Exact bead counts

The bead key totals every color and estimates the grams to buy.

Weave with a guide

Make mode shows one row at a time, with the run of each color, and keeps your place.

Loom bracelet pattern questions

How many beads do I need for a loom bracelet?

A band 20 beads wide and 90 rows long takes 1,800 beads, about 20 g of 10/0 seed beads. The bead key in Wevy counts each color for your actual design.

How long should a bracelet pattern be?

Measure your wrist, add about 1–2 cm for ease, and subtract the length of the clasp. The bracelet calculator converts that length to rows for your bead size.

Can I use Delica beads?

Yes. Choose Miyuki Delica in the catalog and the cells take on its nearly square shape, so the chart shows the bracelet as it will look.

Is the loom bracelet grid free?

Yes. It's part of the Free plan, along with 3D preview and Make mode.
