Bead project cost calculator and suggested selling price

Material cost = bead grams × price per gram + other materials. Labor = hours × hourly rate. Base cost = materials + labor. Suggested price = base cost × (1 + your markup percentage). Markup is applied to cost, not profit margin; fees, tax, shipping, and wholesale discounts are not included unless you add them to other costs.

Example: pricing a beaded bracelet
For 12 g at $0.40/g, $3 in findings, 2 hours at $15/hour, and 30% markup, materials cost $7.80, labor costs $30, and the suggested price is $49.14.

Add bead and other material costs to your labor cost, then apply a markup that covers your business overhead and target profit. Remember to account for marketplace fees, packaging, shipping, and taxes separately.

A 30% markup multiplies cost by 1.30. Profit margin is profit divided by selling price, so the same number is not a 30% margin.
